Life is constantly imparting an essential lesson to us. Nature is automatically compelling us towards physical completion as we age. However, the key question is whether we are progressing towards inner spiritual completion by embracing the full range of human possibilities. This is what the moon and its cycles symbolize.

Profound Life Lessons from the Ocean

For spiritual seekers, inner completion represents true fulfillment.

When we realize our full potential, and our true purpose, then we discover the presence of Ishwara within ourselves, and by achieving that purpose, we move into moksha/enlightenment. This is what full moon symbolizes, a state of completion.

In contrast, for those focused on worldly matters alone, life’s completion is equated with death.

From this perspective, the full moon can also be seen as a symbol of death, which is the completion of physical life.

While the new moon (Amavasya) represents birth, as the moon begins its journey, gradually growing until it reaches its full potential and achieves its completion.

Tonight, when you gaze at the moon, remember these insights.

Is your life, particularly your spiritual journey (i.e., the atman), moving towards completion?

Are you actively striving to enable this process?

If not, nature will continue its work on your body, eventually guiding it toward physical completion. Before that moment arrives, let us awaken with all our strength and abilities, focusing on our true, inner, spiritual completion. Only then can we spread this light all around and have a significant impact through our endeavors.

I have learned this profound lesson from the moon; if you also try to perceive it, you too shall witness this blissful inner transformation.
