As part of our mission #Bodhshala, which is to bring ‘Consciousness in Education’ and bring ‘deeper understanding and life essentials to our youth’, I had formal conversations with the students of 2 large institutions and had many informal small gatherings as well.
My initial observation:
“It is not the youth that should be blamed for their lack of focus, respect, orientation or sense of belonging etc. actually, we as teachers, mentors, elders, role models or parents are failing them”. My suggestions to all those who interact with youth in any capacity, kindly meditate over the following points:
- Transform your attachment into love & compassion for them.
- Transform your expectation into supporting their dreams.
- Transform your control & command into their freedom to choose & express.
- Transform your urge to teach into a lifelong commitment to learn.
- Ask yourself, ‘have I really decoded the life’, before guiding them.
It is high time we create a million awakened teachers, mentors & role models at all levels, for our youth, only this can take India into a new era of ‘global & awakened leadership’.
