A Sacred 42-Day Monsoon Sadhana

with Gurudev Sri Anish

"Self-study of the scriptures is a potent sadhana for the purification of the mind — and only by that purification do the doors of deeper sadhana open."

25 Jul – 5 Sep 2026 Online · Hindi & English

What is Chaturmas

For four monsoon months, it is said the devas, devis and rishis descend to bless the Earth. The skies turn inward, the world grows still — and the whole of creation leans toward the source.

What the ancient rishis called Chaturmas, cosmically is the most conducive time to turn within and know the truth of one's own existence.

Monsoon Landscape

When Lord Vishnu turns inward..

Through Chaturmas, the preserver of the universe steps into yogic sleep. Not ordinary sleep — a profound cleansing of the consciousness of impurities gathered, unconsciously, through the year.

And there is a teaching hidden in it for every one of us who lives a full, working life: when you step back for your inner practice, do not abandon your duties. Delegate them wisely to trusted friends — and keep the flow of life unbroken.

Lord Vishnu's Yog Nidra
"Vishnu's Yoga Nidra is not sleep — it is the cleansing of consciousness."
— Gurudev Sri Anish

The Divine Sequence of Chaturmas

One by one, the guardians of existence step forward — each honoured in its own festival — until the cycle returns to rest on Ekadashi in November.

Svadhyay · The Heart of This Sadhana

1

Take a sutra

Choose the verse that touches your heart.

2

Write & contemplate

Sit with it in chintan-manan — deep, patient reflection.

3

Meditate on it

Let the sutra sink, until it becomes an inner experience.

4

Resolve to live it

Carry it in your life — until it becomes your own truth.

"Note the verse that touches your heart, meditate on it, and resolve to make it your life."

The Mandukya Upanishad

The Mandukya Upanishad — ॐ

Revered as the essence of the Upanishads, the Mandukya unfolds the deepest meaning of as the Para-Beej mantra. Through its twelve mantras — dedicated entirely to , it reveals the four states of consciousness and the non-dual truth of the Self. "Just following this," the rishi says, "you can reach the farthest shore."

"ॐ is not a sound you chant. It is the ground you stand on."

Frequently Asked Questions

About the Sadhana
What is the Saadho Monsoon Sadhana?
A sacred 42-day online Sadhana with Gurudev Sri Anish, centred on the self-study (svadhyaya) of the Mandukya Upanishad. Over six weeks (25 July – 5 September 2026), sadhaks read the Upanishad part by part in their own contemplation, gather each Saturday in a facilitator-led Sangha to share their reflections, and practise the daily Om — the Para-Beej mantra — dhyan.
Why is it held during the monsoon / Chaturmas?
Chaturmas — the four sacred months — is the traditional season of turning inward. As Gurudev says, when the rains keep us from venturing out, it is nature's own call to pause our outer movement, take refuge, and intensify our sadhana.
Do I need any prior experience or knowledge of Sanskrit?
No. The Sadhana welcomes both new and experienced seekers — you need only jijnasa, the sincere longing to know. Beginner-friendly commentaries are recommended so you can begin comfortably.
Will Gurudev Sri Anish be present live?
Gurudev will be present live with us for the Initiation and the Culmination of the Sadhana. For the weekly sessions in between, the Sangha groups meet in online sessions led by Saadho facilitators.
Can I take part if I already follow another practice?
Yes. The Mandukya Upanishad and the daily Om dhyan complement any sincere path — they deepen your relationship with consciousness itself.
The Practice
How does the self-study (svadhyaya) work?
Each week you read one part of the Mandukya Upanishad in your own contemplation, using a recommended commentary. On Saturday, you gather with your Sangha to share what unfolded during the week's reading and reflection.
Which book / commentary should I read?
Gurudev has recommended two commentaries:
  • For self-study in English — "Enlightenment Without God: Mandukya Upanishad" by Swami Rama (Himalayan Institute). Buy on Amazon →
  • For self-study in Hindi — "१०८ उपनिषद् (ज्ञानखण्ड / साधनाखण्ड)" by Pt. Shriram Sharma Acharya (Gayatri Parivar). Free E-Book (PDF) ↓ · Buy on Amazon →
You may choose the e-book or a hardcover / paperback. We recommend arranging your book by 25 July, so you can begin along with the Sangha. If neither is easily available to you, feel free to choose any other commentary you find easier to understand and imbibe.
What is the daily practice?
A daily Om (Para-Beej mantra) dhyan. Your self-practice deepens every two weeks — 18 chants, then 27, then 36. In the sessions, we chant 18 times together, guided by Gurudev's recording.
What are the Saturday Sangha sessions?
Facilitator-led group gatherings (on Google Meet) where sadhaks share their week's reflections from the self-study and practise together. Each group is guided by a dedicated Saadho facilitator.
Schedule & Timings
What are the timings for sadhaks in the USA?
During the program the US is on daylight time (EDT / PDT). The Hindi session falls on Friday night: 9:00–10:30 PM ET / 6:00–7:30 PM PT. The English session falls on Saturday morning: 9:00–10:30 AM ET / 6:00–7:30 AM PT.
In which languages is the Sadhana offered?
Hindi and English. You choose your language at registration.
Joining & Logistics
What do I need to take part?
A phone or computer, an internet connection, WhatsApp, and a quiet space. The Satsangs with Gurudev are held on Zoom; the weekly Sangha sessions on Google Meet.
How will I join the sessions?
You'll receive the joining links in your Sangha WhatsApp group and by email. The two Gurudev Satsangs are open to all; the weekly Sangha meets in your assigned group.
How are the groups assigned?
After registrations close, sadhaks are grouped by region and language, each with a dedicated Saadho facilitator. You'll be added to your group's WhatsApp by 23 July.
What happens after I register?
You'll receive an immediate confirmation, and you'll be added to your Sadhana WhatsApp group by 23 July. The journey begins with the Initiation on 25 July.
Contribution & Registration
What is the contribution?
A Sankalpa contribution — ₹2,100 (within India) / $51 (outside India). It sustains the teaching, facilitation, and the Sangha that holds the Sadhana. An 80G receipt is provided for contributions within India.
When do registrations close?
Registrations close on 21 July 2026. We recommend registering early so you can arrange your book and settle in before the Initiation on 25 July.
