Thank You — Your Place is Held

Read below to prepare for the Sadhana ↓
The First Step
You'll be added to your Sadhana WhatsApp group by 23rd July.

Keep an eye on your WhatsApp — your Sangha group is where the journey begins.

The Second Step

Prepare for Svadhyaya

This monsoon, we will all self-study (svadhyaya) one of the most potent Upanishads — the Mandukya Upanishad. Gurudev has recommended two commentaries for sadhaks to read through the 42 days:

For self-study in English
Enlightenment Without God: Mandukya Upanishad
Swami Rama · Himalayan Institute
हिंदी में स्वाध्याय करने वाले साधकों के लिए
१०८ उपनिषद् (ज्ञानखण्ड / साधनाखण्ड)
पं. श्रीराम शर्मा आचार्य · गायत्री परिवार

You can choose the e-book or a hardcover / paperback. We recommend arranging your book by 25th July, so you can begin your self-study along with the Sangha.

If neither is easily available to you, feel free to choose any other commentary you find easier to understand and imbibe.

Good to Know

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the self-study (svadhyaya) work?
Each week you read one part of the Mandukya Upanishad in your own contemplation, using a recommended commentary. On Sunday, you gather with your Sangha to share what unfolded during the week's reading and reflection.
What is the daily practice?
A daily Om (Para-Beej mantra) dhyan. Your self-practice deepens every two weeks — 18 chants, then 27, then 36. In the sessions, we chant 18 times together, guided by Gurudev's recording.
What is the schedule?
  • Initiation with Gurudev — Saturday, 25 July (Zoom)
  • Weekly Sangha Sessions — Sundays: 26 July, 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 August (Google Meet)
  • Culmination with Gurudev — Sunday, 6 September (Zoom)
The daily Om dhyan runs throughout.
What are the session timings?
Gurudev's Satsangs (Initiation & Culmination): Hindi 6:30–8:00 AM IST · English 6:30–8:00 PM IST. The weekly Sangha sessions are held at your group's time — India Groups 7:00–8:00 AM IST (recommended), or Outside India Groups 7:00–8:00 PM IST (recommended).
What are the timings for sadhaks in the USA?
During the program the US is on daylight time (EDT / PDT). The Hindi session falls on Friday night: 9:00–10:30 PM ET / 6:00–7:30 PM PT. The English session falls on Saturday morning: 9:00–10:30 AM ET / 6:00–7:30 AM PT.
Will Gurudev Sri Anish be present live?
Gurudev will be present live with us for the Initiation and the Culmination of the Sadhana. For the weekly sessions in between, the Sangha groups meet in online sessions led by Saadho facilitators.
How will I join the sessions?
You'll receive the joining links in your Sangha WhatsApp group and by email. The two Gurudev Satsangs are open to all; the weekly Sangha meets in your assigned group.
What do I need to take part?
A phone or computer, an internet connection, WhatsApp, and a quiet space. The Satsangs with Gurudev are held on Zoom; the weekly Sangha sessions on Google Meet.
What if the Zoom session is full?
Zoom holds up to 300 sadhaks. If it reaches capacity, you can join the live stream on YouTube — the link will be shared in your Sangha WhatsApp group.
How are the groups assigned?
After registrations close, sadhaks are grouped by region and language, each with a dedicated Saadho facilitator. You'll be added to your group's WhatsApp by 23 July.
Can I take part if I already follow another practice?
Yes. The Mandukya Upanishad and the daily Om dhyan complement any sincere path — they deepen your relationship with consciousness itself.
Whom do I contact for any questions?
Please write to us at programs@saadho.org — we are happy to help.

"Self-study (svadhyaya) of the scriptures is a potent sadhana for the purification of the mind — the chitta. And it is only through this purification that the doors of deeper sadhana open for a sadhak."
